Find the modifiable causes behind complex symptoms.

Most medicine manages symptoms. Dr. Christian Bogner, MD, FACOG reads the biology from gut to brain — genetics, metabolism, environment, and your microbiome — to find the modifiable contributors, then builds a plan around what the data shows.

Bogner Health provides consultation and education and does not replace primary care, urgent care, or emergency medical treatment.

Why Bogner Health is different We read everything, test only what matters
Why Bogner Health The difference

We read everything. We test only what matters.

Most functional medicine runs on more testing and less reading. We do the reverse — your complete record, read in full and interpreted by a physician who has done this and nothing else for years.

Expand any point to see how

Six reasons this is different

Built to understand you — not to move you through.

Total intake

There's no page limit and no document cap. Every lab, scan, report, and prior note you send is entered into a structured record built for you — then integrated into one full-system picture. Whatever data you have, we fold it into the big picture. No variable is left out, no matter how much you bring.

The unread record

Your past results hold the pattern. We read across years of your data to surface the hidden clues and quiet connections that are easy to miss one chart at a time. Often the signal is already in your file — it just needs someone with the time, and the tools, to recognize it.

Machine + physician

Machine-learning models and enhanced AI engines surface signals across genetics, metabolism, microbiome, and history — connections easy to miss one chart at a time. Dr. Bogner then reads and interprets every result himself. The technology sharpens and speeds the read; it informs clinical judgment, it doesn't replace the physician.

Test less, read more

We don't sell a wall of panels. We work with what you already have and recommend only what will genuinely change your plan. If a test won't be actionable, we won't order it — which respects both your body and your budget.

The clinician

12 years in clinical medicine, then 8 years working exclusively in functional and integrative medicine — across autism, neurodevelopmental, metabolic, immune, and genetic cases. It isn't a sideline or a certificate on the wall. It's the whole practice, sharpened case after case.

The written planSee a sample report →

After your consultation you receive a clear, written summary that correlates your results to your symptoms — in plain language, with prioritized, practical next steps. Yours to keep, act on, and share with anyone on your care team. The thinking doesn't stay in the room; it goes home with you.

The mechanism

The microbiome writes to the brain.

Imbalances in the gut microbiome, layered on genetic susceptibility, sit upstream of much chronic disease. The gut doesn't just digest — it produces a stream of compounds that don't stay there. They reach the brain and shape mood, focus, and calm. We test these pathways directly instead of guessing at them.

What reaches the brain — gut-derived inputs
Oxalates
Plant and microbial compounds that bind minerals and irritate tissue when they accumulate.
Ammonia
A nitrogen byproduct of protein breakdown and dysbiosis; neurotoxic when clearance lags.
Aldehydes
Fermentation byproducts such as acetaldehyde that burden detoxification.
LPS · endotoxin
Fragments of gram-negative bacterial walls that drive systemic inflammation.
Environmental toxins
Metals and xenobiotics that add to the body's total load.
Food proteins
Incompletely digested peptides that engage and provoke the immune system.
Endogenous tryptamines
Gut-derived DMT & bufotenin acting at the brain's 5-HT2A receptor — the pathway we test directly.

Method

Patterns read by machine and physician.

Complex cases rarely turn on a single number. We read yours against extensive clinical experience — amplified by machine learning and enhanced AI engines that surface connections across genetics, metabolism, microbiome, and history that are easy to miss one chart at a time.

01 · Clinical experience
Breadth

Experience across autism, neurodegenerative, complex metabolic, immune, and genetic cases — the pattern library every read is checked against.

02 · Machine learning
Patterns

Models surface signals across labs and microbiome data that rarely stand out when each result is reviewed on its own.

03 · AI engines
Synthesis

Enhanced AI condenses large, messy datasets into prioritized, testable observations to bring into your consultation.

Dr. Bogner interprets every result. The technology sharpens and speeds the read — it informs clinical judgment, it doesn't replace the physician.
